Outfit: out for dinner

On Firday night a friend of mine took me out for dinner to a very nice restaurant by the lake side. I used this opportunity to dress up a bit and finally wear my satin pumps that I got a while ago. I also wore this wonderful lace top which I got at H&M trend last week. It's gorgeous and extremly versatile. I will post more on my shopping trip from last week and that top later ^o^

Today's Outfit: fringe time

Pretty simple outfit today for going to the lake:

hat: Zara, top: H&M, shorts: self made ages ago, fringed gradiators: Topshop, fringed clutch: H&M

shoe day

Today Zara sale finally started and I was lucky enough to finally get myself a pair of the wonderful Zara gladiator heels. I didn't want to buy them for the full price as they're quite high and I don't know how often I'm acutally going to wear them. But now I got them for a good price and I couldn't be happier.

Sorry for the crappy pictures but I was to lazy to get out my camera and just used photobooth.

shine on..

Yesterday I spent by the lake side with my friends, eating strawberries, cherry tomatoes and water melon. Although it was quite hot I was too much of a chicken to take a swim in the cold lake >.<

Took some pictures in our garden today. Life can be so sweet when you've got nothing to worry about for a day or two and can enjoy yourself fully.

Outfit: dropped hemlines

Voila, my new skirt:

It’s an interesting length that took me a while to get used to it. It looked so nice on the mannequin in the store so I just bought it without trying it on first or thinking about it. I had fallen for the pattern.

Then as I tried it on at home I acutally wanted to return it at first. I had already put in back in the shopping back, ready to return it. Just before returning it I tired it on once more and suddenly really liked the length and the shape on me. So I kept it.
At first I had not clue what to wear it with but for a start I paired it with a simple black tank top. I might be a bit more adventurous the next time I wear it but for the time being I am quite happy with this simple combination.

To avoid looking short I wore the skirt with my skyhigh Zara gladiator heels.

Somehow the skirt a slight 50s feel. After wearing it all day I kept on feeling like a rich lady on the French riviera in the 50s, if I'd worn a pair of big sunglasses and one of these huge sun hats the look would've been perfect.

Christian Lacroix for La Redoute playsuit

Yesterday my playsuit from Christian Lacroix for La Redoute arrived:

The playsuits came in special dust bags with the Chirstian Lacroix for LaRedoute logo on them and a special hanger.

I will keep the navy one as the white one is a bit too see-though and I'd be too scared of dirtying it.
The fabric is so nice and soft. The playsuit looks very well tailored, I think it's definitely worth the money and I'll get to wear it a lot this summer. It's such an easy outfit, just put on the playsuit and a pair of shoes and you're ready to go. I don't think it needs a lot of accessorizing. You can also dress it up easily with a nice pair of heels and a clutch.

My wonderful shoes finally arrived!!

I’ll dance somewhere far away

I went shopping today and found this amazing vest. I originally wore the outfit with a jeans jacket but took it off pretty soon as it got warmer. In the store I tried on the waist coat over my current outfit and liked it so much that I ended up wearing it for the rest of the day.

boots: my friend's, bag: Vero Moda, top: H&M Trend, skirt: H&M Trend, vest: Zara

The pictures turned out kinda bad because it was getting dark outside when I took them and I didn't want to ruin them by using flash. >.<

outfit - feeling a little McQueen Fall 08 - ish

I got this black tunic at Zara the other day and have been wearing it like crazy ever since. It's made of wool and silk and feels really soft and light. The cut is also quite interesting, it's shorter in the back than in the front and the material drapes nicely if you wear it with jeans or a tight skirt. On Saturday night I wanted to try something different and paired it with a white petticoat. I think it kind of gives it a slight Alexander McQueen FW 08 look.

Outfit: day and night

Yesterday wore this wonderfully simple and comfortable grey t-shirt dress.

Switched to shiny nylon leggings for the evening as it got a bit to cold for bare legs. I also exchanged the jeans jacket with a blazer which I belted with that incredible Burberry-esque Zara belt.

Prada-esque lace

I haven't been shopping for a while and so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw all the new items at the H&M Trend section. They had a lot of fall stuff in already, including these wonderful lace pieces:

It's very very much inspired by the Prada Fall 08 collection which I really loved and so I couldn't resist and bought the rose/beige tulip skirt and the black top. The funny thing is I actually saw a beige lace skirt paired with a black lace top in the Prada store display just a few days ago, so I wanted to try the look myself by pairing these two pieces. I am actually quite happy with the outcome but I don't know if I'm going to wear it like that.

a better look at the skirt:

tights

Everybody seems to be sporting lace/patterned tights in their outfits lately. I haven't decided weather I really like it or not.
Anyway, as I searched through my hoisery box yesterday I came across these cotton knit tights that I had totally forgotten. I'm thinking of cutting them a little to make them look less patternd and more Rodarte-ish.
Dunno yet, I'm not really talented with scissors and I usually end up throwing away my attempts at do-it-yourself pieces.

I shouldn't be here anyway, I have to pack for my vacation in Canada as I'm leaving on Friday morning. I had intended to make a post about this on here but I've been so busy with preparations the last couple of days that I totally forgot.
I'm going to visit my best friend there who's currently living with her Dad somewhere in a very remote area surrounded by the beautiful nature of Canada. So I'm flying to Vancouver and from there to another small town where she'll pick me up. We will then travel around in the area. I'm so excited!! The whole trip there is supposed to be spontaneous and so we haven't yet decided on where exactly we're going. But I guess we'll also be in Vanouver or another big city at the end of my stay. I'm also looking forward to shopping over there. But mainly this vacation is going to be very un-glamorous and "back to the nature" like. With trekking shoes and very simple clothes ^o^ I'm really looking forward to it!

lundi 26 septembre 2011

It's still freezing cold here which makes leaving the house a bit of a pain in the ass. But fortunately I have my warm and cozy winter coat to keep me warm. It becomes sort of my uniform these days.

my new booties <3

Today was such a cold and rainy day - to cheer myself up I got myself these lovelies:

I spotted them a while a go on nitrolicious and have been waiting for them to come out ever since. I saw a really similar boot at Urban Outfitters in Canada but it was really pricey so I decided to wait for these beauties and I'm glad I did. They're perfect <3

They also come in black and turquoise. The black one's looked great but I already got a few black booties so I passed.

^I also got this knitted cape like sweater but I'm going to return it. It's not worth the price and I don't like it that much on me - it looked much nicer on the mannequin.
